"Raise your right hand and repeat after me." With this oath said, from all parts of the United States, the Delta Dawgs were created.

In 1984, a group of boys, entering manhood, all swore an allegiance to the Constitution of the United States. Hailing from all over the United States; Californians, New Yorkers, Massachusetts, Vermonters, Texans, Georgians, Hawaiians, Coloradoans, East Coast, West Coast and everything in between, the Delta Dawgs formed up May 1st, 1984 at the Reception Center located at the home of the Infantry, Fort Benning, GA. It was here they processed into the Army as 11X's… unassigned infantry soldiers; determined to get their 11B status.

For the next week, they were issued uniforms, given shots, learned their general orders, filled out all the paperwork… and had their heads shaved. All while this was going on, they all heard about this evil place on Fort Benning… Harmony Church. All the soldiers assigned to work at the reception center told the Delta Dawgs they hoped they didn't go to Harmony Church.

On May 8th, 1984, the word comes down… the Delta Dawgs are put onto a bus and ship to Echo Company, 9th Battalion, 2 Training Brigade, Harmony Church! Drill Sergeant Jarrett gets onto one of the buses and welcomes the recruits with a speech, "Welcome to Harmony Church. Here you will train to become the worlds best infantry soldiers. Here, you will always be hungry and always tired. In the end, you will be a lean mean fighting machine. Until then, you are a recruit, not a soldier; with that said… YOU HAVE 3 SECONDS TO GET OFF MY BUS AND 2 SECONDS HAVE ALREADY PASSED! MOVE!"
